Greetings from President
It is my honor to assume the office of President of Asia-Pacific Endocrine Conference (APEC) society from 2008, succeeding outgoing President Dr. Yoshio Ban. After the first conference was held in Singapore, the annual conference has been held in Asian and Pacific Rim nations outside of Japan where we have received friendly cooperation from medical schools and major hospitals.
Our aim is to promote academic exchange and friendship between Japanese and Asian doctors and medical affiliates who engage in clinical endocrinology and endocrine surgery, as well as basic medicine through the presentation and discussion of papers in English on a variety of topics.
In addition, this conference continues to provide an arena for young doctors to gain experience in preparing, presenting, and discussing papers in English early in their careers.
I sincerely hope that this conference continues despite occasional turbulent international conditions and provides a foundation to promote academic exchange and friendship with Asian nations for all the participants.
